Power of Marketing

Sis was telling me about this article on Yahoo that i went to read just now.

It gives you the reasons to not buy diamonds.

The first reason states a fact that we perhaps know, but failed to realise. That, the significance of diamonds is actually marketing gimmicks to sell the rocks. And when we learn marketing, we already knew that emotional appeal sells. So the campaign by De Beers less than 70yrs ago, successfully created a beautiful romance for women, to believe that diamond signifies true love. Then again, the rarity and expensive pricing can all then be part of the marketing plan.

Well, when someone wants to send you a message, be it a genuine expression or not, it can all be strategised and packaged to make-believe. Ultimately, we have to be responsible and intelligent enough to judge for ourselves if the message is true.

Like, if your husband buys you a diamond each time he beds other women, would you still believe that diamond signifies true love and so he truly loves you?

You'll be lucky enough if you can see that. Some people never knew. Like the burning of incense paper can too, be a marketing gimmick, but we will never know if our ancesters ever received them. So, believers continue burning and risk the fact that their money could be wasted while non-believers continue not burning and risking the fact that the ancesters could be hungry and homeless in the underworld.

Life is full of uncertainty. That is why people choose to live in denial or perhaps hopeful optimism to-- believe. Yes, if a man is willing to buy you a genuine diamond ring, nomatter what is in his heart, there are still things you can be happy about: 1. He feels u're worth him spending the money. 2. He is rich. Why some women loves diamond is also prolly because it sparkle hopes of happiness.

Thats also why when women lose hope in a marriage, the diamond ring they wear becomes just like a shiny rock on the metal band that some just threw it back to the giver or even, the sea.

Don't be mistakened, I do love diamonds. And, the powerful message of it signifying true, precious and everlasting love still entices me. As much as i've lost hopes in some beautiful words and promises i've already heard and seen thru in life, my diamond has yet to come and yet to disappoint; so i can still...hope.
